About Jacqueline Esquer
Hi, I’m Jacqueline Esquer, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker specializing in anxiety and trauma. I work with adults who feel overwhelmed by worry, stuck in patterns that are hard to change, or impacted by past experiences that continue to show up in the present. My goal is to help you feel less alone and burdened, so you can feel more grounded, trust yourself, and move toward a life that feels more like your own.
My Journey To Becoming A Therapist
Throughout my life, I have experienced my own struggles with anxiety, fear, and patterns of coping shaped by difficult experiences. For a long time, I carried guilt and shame about how I responded to those challenges. Through my own therapy, I came to understand that my mind and body were doing their best to protect me and help me get through. I am deeply passionate about helping others make sense of their own anxiety and pain, while extending compassion toward whatever you’ve needed to do to survive. I hold hope for you until you’re able to hold it on your own.
Hope exists for you and within you.
My Professional Background
I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of California, Santa Cruz, where I developed a strong interest in how culture, systems, and societal expectations shape our sense of self. I often invite clients to explore how these influences show up in their experiences of anxiety, self-doubt, and identity. I went on to receive my Master’s in Social Welfare from the University of California, Berkeley, and am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW #113631) in California.
My clinical background includes extensive work with trauma, including survivors of intimate partner violence, sexual abuse, and families impacted by loss and the foster care system. This work deeply informs my specialization in anxiety and trauma, particularly how past experiences continue to shape present-day patterns. In my private practice, I support individuals in building self-compassion, reducing anxiety, and gently shifting the patterns that keep them feeling stuck.
